Bronwyn Newport Mourns Death of 'Wonderful' Father After Sudden Fall

The 'Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' star, Bronwyn Newport, is grieving the loss of her father, David Richard Newport, who died on Friday, June 13 following a rapid series of health complications.

Bronwyn shared the sad news in an emotional post on her Instagram Story, where she wrote, "Earlier today we lost my wonderful father, David Richard Newport."

As Bravo fans know, Bronwyn has previously revealed on social media that her father had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and was living in a memory care facility. She explained in her post on Friday that her father fell on Tuesday, June 10, and quickly declined from there.

"Yesterday, we were told he most likely only had a few days," Bronwyn wrote. "It has been a huge shock to lose someone seemingly so suddenly that yet we've been caretaking through such a long illness."

While difficult, Bronwyn noted she was thankful to have been by David's side during his final days. "I am so grateful to have been able to be by his bedside all week and in his final moments to help both him and my mom," she said. "I'm grateful we had some idea what was happening toward the end so much of our family could gather to be with him."

Bronwyn concluded the message by saying her family is now "processing this profound loss," and added that it was her mother who encouraged her to share the news publicly. “She wanted me to share so those who knew and loved him could think fondly of him at this time,” Bronwyn wrote.
