Rock legend Richie Sambora's daughter Ava is gearing up for two major milestones: her wedding to fiancé Tyler Farrar and her doctorate studies at Pepperdine University.

A Quiet Father's Day Weekend

Ava spent a low-key Father's Day weekend with her dad, enjoying quality time together. A source close to the family revealed that Ava came over on Friday, and they spent the whole weekend together, just the two of them.

The source added, "They both love spending time one on one together." Ava's mom, Heather Locklear, celebrated Ava's Master's degree in Family Therapy from the USC Rossier School of Education in May 2023 with a proud Instagram post.

Full Planning Mode for the Wedding

The source confirmed that Ava is in "full planning mode" for her wedding to Tyler, which is set to take place next summer. Ava and Tyler have been together for over five years, and Richie Sambora couldn't be prouder of his daughter.

"Ava and Tyler have been together over five years. It's like they are already married!" Richie Sambora told PEOPLE. "They just really love the heck out of each other, and I do too."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is currently recovering from a fractured hand injury, but that didn't stop him from performing at the Unbridled Eve Derby Gala at the Kentucky Derby.

Richie's Pride and Joy

The source added, "Richie is extremely proud of Ava. She is the sweetest reflection of him." Ava's grandmother, Joan, who broke her hip and wrist in December 2023, will be traveling to the West Coast for the wedding.

Richie Sambora is also proud of Ava's continued education, especially her doctorate work. He feels blessed to have a great connection and relationship with both Ava and Tyler.
