David Beckham, the renowned former English professional footballer, has shared a heartfelt moment with his mother, Sandra Beckham, after being named for knighthood by King Charles III.

The 50-year-old star athlete took to Instagram to share the emotional lunch with his mother at Tony's Pie and Mash in London. In the caption, Beckham wrote, "Lunch with Mum, haven't seen her since the news mum cried when she arrived, cried during lunch and cried when I was leaving x special moment for us all love you mum x @sandra_beckham49 (Dad's next) @tedbeckhamdavid."

In the comments section, Sandra Beckham expressed her love, saying, "Love you more was emotional people saying congratulations Sir, I see tears again xx." The restaurant also chimed in, celebrating the special moment, saying, "Such a special moment for you all. Always lovely to see you all."

With this honor, Beckham's title is now Sir David Beckham, and his wife, Victoria Beckham, becomes Lady Beckham.

Beckham's son, Romeo, also celebrated the good news, sharing an Instagram Stories photo of himself and his father smiling together in a blurry image. "So so proud of you," the 22-year-old wrote. David later reposted the photo to his own Instagram Stories.

The couple also shares sons Brooklyn, 26, Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 13.

David is no stranger to working closely with the royal family. He was appointed an Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth in 2003 and was later asked to be an ambassador for the King's Foundation in 2024.
