Sara Burack, a successful real estate agent and star of Netflix's "Million Dollar Beach House", tragically died in a hit-and-run incident in Hampton Bays, New York, on June 19.
According to News12 Connecticut and Greater Long Island, the 40-year-old was found unconscious on Montauk Highway at around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 19. She was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police are still searching for the driver involved in the hit-and-run. Southampton Town Police confirmed Burack's death, and an investigation is ongoing.
Burack was a resident of Southampton and worked as a broker with Nest Seekers International, with offices in The Hamptons and New York City. In an interview with Hamptons.com in 2020, Burack shared her passion for real estate, saying, "I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent."
This tragic incident is reminiscent of other recent hit-and-run cases, such as Perry Kurtz, a comedian and 'America's Got Talent' alum, who died at 73 after a hit-and-run, and Lou Christie, the falsetto-voiced 60s pop star behind 'Lightnin' Strikes', who died at 82.
