Country music superstar Tim McGraw has been forced to back out of his upcoming concert at the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Last Cowboy Standing event on July 21 in Colorado due to his ongoing recovery from back surgery.

The news was announced by PBR CEO Sean Gleason, who stated that country group Cross Canadian Ragweed will perform in McGraw's place. "Cross Canadian Ragweed will step in for Tim McGraw as he recovers from back surgery to open the Last Cowboy Standing Show on July 21 in Fort Collins — and we couldn't be more thrilled," Gleason said in a statement.

McGraw was set to perform at the event, but his recent back surgery has left him unable to take the stage. The musician has been open about his health struggles in the past, including undergoing double knee replacements and three back surgeries.

In a recent interview on Tracy Lawrence's TL's Road House podcast, McGraw gave an update on his health, saying, "I can tell you that after double knee replacements and three back surgeries and now a torn rotator cuff and a ruptured disc, all the things that are going on, there were times this year that I thought this might be it. This might be time to hang it up."

Tim McGraw attends the NSAI 2023 Nashville Songwriter Awards at Ryman Auditorium on September 26, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Despite his health struggles, McGraw remains committed to his music and has been working on new material. His latest album, Standing Room Only, was released in August 2023.

Ticket holders for the PBR event have the option to receive a full refund by contacting the Rams Ticket office at 970-491-7267 or by filling out a refund request form at https://app.csurams.com/pbr1refund.
