Love Island USA is urging its fans to be kind to the islanders after a surge in negative comments online. The show aired a warning message during the Tuesday, June 24 episode, reminding viewers that the contestants are "real people" who deserve respect.

The message read, "THE KEYWORD IN LOVE ISLAND IS... LOVE. WE LOVE OUR FANS. WE LOVE OUR ISLANDERS, WE DON'T LOVE CYBERBULLYING, HARASSMENT OR HATE."

In addition to the on-screen warning, the show also shared a similar message on X, saying, "We appreciate the fans, the passion for the series, and the amazing group of Islanders who are sharing their summer with us. Please just remember they're real people — so let's be kind and spread the love!"

The messages come after host Ariana Madix spoke out against online harassment during the June 21 Aftersun episode. Madix warned viewers not to contact the islanders' families or share their personal information online, saying, "You still have time to delete all of that, because the islanders don't have their phones. So we're giving you a chance. Because this is a fun, amazing, beautiful show, and we should be thanking each one of these islanders every single day for giving us themselves. Be nice. Please be nice, or I'll come find you."

Cierra Ortega, Jeremiah Brown, Huda Mustafa, Chelley Bissainthe, Charlie Georgiou, Olandria Carthen, Taylor Williams, Belle-A Walker, and Austin Shepard on Love Island USA Season 7.

The show's plea for kindness comes after islander Huda Mustafa's ex-boyfriend Noah Sheline defended her against online backlash. Sheline posted a message on his TikTok story, saying, "At the end of the day I hope everyone remembers we're human... She's maybe not doing a great job idk I don't watch the show but I don't like that I'm seeing so much negative s--- on my page or even clips of it about her."

Sheline encouraged fans to be mindful of Mustafa's mental health and the safety of their daughter, saying, "It's not my job to police her or the people in my comments, but I will say what you guys do will affect her mental health and my daughter's maybe in the future. So I'm looking out for her in that aspect. Out of respect for our daughter."

New episodes of Love Island USA air every night except for Wednesdays on Peacock.
