Heidi Montag is back in the spotlight with her new album Heidiwood, and she's not holding back. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Montag talks about her journey to create the album, her dream collaborations, and how she's feeling about her music career.
Montag's album Heidiwood is a collection of new songs, previously released singles, and tracks featured on a reissue of her 2010 debut album Superficial. The album is a testament to Montag's perseverance and dedication to her music career.
"It's really challenging to just have everything you've worked so hard for to be gone, and so everybody streaming the music was the hope that we were feeling, like, 'Okay, maybe we can rebuild and move forward in life,'" Montag, 38, tells PEOPLE.
Montag also opens up about her dream collaboration with social media star Addison Rae. "I would love to collab with her. I love what Addison is doing for herself. It's really unique. It's cool. It is resonating," Montag says.
When asked about her album's artwork, Montag reveals that she was going for a "pageant queen" moment. "I love a pageant moment. Queen pageant, for sure. Yes, the people's princess," she says.

Montag's music career has been a journey, and she's grateful for the support she's received from her fans. "It gave me such hope to be able to rebuild and move forward in life. Life is so expensive, and these things I loved, cherished and collected over the years, and our house, it's just stuff you can't replace," she says.
In addition to her music, Montag is also excited about her upcoming Pride performances. "I just want these Pride performances to be fun and a celebration of being authentic, yourself and a place of love and oneness," she says.

Montag's album Heidiwood is out now, and she's already thinking about her next projects. "I'm not sure. The world is changing so quickly, and I think we need to sit back for a minute, reassess and figure out what is the best plan," she says.
