Ashley Graham, the 37-year-old supermodel, has revealed how she suffered a last-minute wardrobe malfunction at the 2025 Met Gala, but managed to save the day with a quick thinking and a diamond-encrusted accessory.
The Wardrobe Malfunction
Graham, who attended the event with a figure-hugging, grey and white pinstripe ensemble custom-made by BOSS, accidentally spilled mint oil on the bust portion of her dress just before leaving for the event.
She wrote in her Substack post, "The reason I even had one brooch is because of my last-minute oil spill."
Graham recalled the final moments before leaving her hotel, "I yanked my shoes on and we ran downstairs (the elevator stopped working!) and tried our best to get it out. But sure enough, we all realized there's nothing that's going to help, except for some Dawn and a dry cleaner possibly."
The Quick Fix
The model's quick thinking led her to use a diamond spectrum from Nikos Koulis as a brooch to cover the oil stain.
The brooch, a diamond-encrusted open loop, perfectly wrapped around the discoloration of the oil stain.
Graham also wore a set of Nikos Koulis jewelry, including ornate dangling earrings that formed a cuff around her ear, and a satin pocket square.

Graham shared behind-the-scenes photos of her 2025 Met Gala experience on Instagram, including a look at her team trying to remove the oil stain with a hair dryer (and failing), and a photo of her being excited when the sparkling brooch was the perfect fix to the issue.
She captioned the post, "oil spill on aisle MET GALA."
