Sophie Turner is showing her support for her ex-husband Joe Jonas' latest album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, which dropped on Friday, May 23. The actress, 29, shared a link to the album on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, May 24, along with the caption "Go go @joejonas."
The album is Jonas' first solo project since 2011's Fastlife, and he recently shared that he didn't even initially intend to write it. "We were writing for the [Jonas] Brothers," Jonas, 35, told PEOPLE. "I just felt so drawn to this one song, and I asked the guys for approval. I was like, 'Hey, can I please take this one and maybe just explore where this could go for myself?' It felt very personal."
Jonas said that he and a team of writers, including Justin Trainor, Alexander 23, and Lush, "just carried on and made the album in two-some weeks." He also said that he was so excited to share his new music with the world that he almost released it last fall.
Jonas has previously been open about the fact that his new music was largely inspired by his split from Turner. "It was scary at times, and also freeing," the musician told Billboard in August 2024 while discussing his decision to write about the relationship. "I'm not trying to come for anyone on this album. I'm not trying to put stuff on blast. I'm a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that — but also, the journey to get here."
The pair, who officially divorced in September 2024 and share daughters Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, opened up about their decision to part ways in a joint Instagram post in September 2023.
Turner and Jonas agreed to joint custody of their two children in the September 2024 divorce settlement. A source told PEOPLE that the former couple was peacefully co-parenting, saying, "They turned things around from the initial messy custody battle. They are friendly and great co-parents now."
