Britney Spears has taken to Instagram to share her side of the story after she was given a warning for lighting a cigarette on a recent flight.

The 43-year-old singer revealed that she thought she was on a "plane where you can smoke" and claimed that notifying the authorities was "kinda much."

In a May 23 Instagram post, Spears shared a video of herself on the flight, writing, "Me yesterday !!! It's actually incredibly funny !!!" She went on to explain that she was drinking vodka for the first time and felt "so SMART" and wanted a cigarette, which her friend lit for her.

Spears claimed that she thought she was on a plane where you can smoke" because the drink holders were on the outside of the seat, and she didn't realize it was a non-smoking flight.

The flight attendants asked her to put out the cigarette, and authorities were contacted, issuing a warning about her conduct on the flight.

Spear's Instagram post also included allegations about one flight attendant, describing her as "weird" and claiming she "invaded" the singer's personal space.

The incident marked Spears' first warning for not following the rules, according to a source.

Spears was traveling from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to Los Angeles on the flight, where she was accompanied by her security.
