Country music star Billy Ray Cyrus and actress Elizabeth Hurley have taken their romance to the next level, making their red carpet debut as a couple in Rome, Italy.

The couple attended a dinner celebrating the opening of the Orizzonti/Rosso exhibition at Palazzo Barberini on May 24, and Cyrus shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their evening on his Instagram.

In the video, set to KC and the Sunshine Band's "That's the Way (I Like It)," the pair can be seen walking arm-in-arm as they leave their hotel, before the camera switches to them walking hand-in-hand through the exhibition.

Hurley, 59, stunned in a bright pink, figure-hugging gown featuring a plunging neckline and cape-style sleeves, which she teamed with silver platform heels and statement earrings. Cyrus, 63, wore a pair of tight-fitting black pants, a black jacket with leather accents, a western hat, and dark sunglasses.

The couple first sparked romance rumors in April, when Cyrus posted a photo of them kissing as they celebrated Easter together in Tennessee. Hurley's son Damian, 23, also attended the event in Rome and wore a red suit.

In a recent interview on Apple Country Music's The Ty Bentli Show, Cyrus confirmed their romance, explaining that he and Hurley had reconnected after meeting on the set of Netflix movie Christmas in Paradise in 2022.

A source told PEOPLE that the couple is ignoring any negativity aimed at their relationship, with Hurley focusing on the special things they have in common, like country music.

"Liz doesn't care that skeptics don't get it. She's focused on the special things that they have in common, like country music," the source said. "She loves his Southern vibes. He's very calm and happy around her."
