Anxiety Club: A Documentary on Mental Health
The documentary, directed by Wendy Lobel, features comedians who reflect on their relationship with anxiety. The film includes Normand sleeping with a weighted anxiety blanket, Vaughn describing anxiety as a "turbine" in her brain, and Jenkins sharing her fear of her kids breaking their neck and getting paralyzed. The documentary aims to destigmatize mental health by saying, "Okay, this is okay to talk about."
The documentary also features standup performances, sketch videos, and therapy sessions, providing a relatable and disarming look at anxiety. According to a press release, "All of the comedians in Anxiety Club have created standup or sketch material about their mental health that is not only funny but uniquely relatable and disarming to audiences."
