Victoria Monét is speaking out about her romance with rapper Stormzy, calling him "a really special guy" in a new interview.

The 36-year-old singer-songwriter sat down with Keke Palmer on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, where she opened up about her feelings for Stormzy, whose real name is Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr.

"Yeah, he's a really special guy," Monét said. "I have so much respect for him, and I got to learn more about him by dating him."

Monét and Stormzy were spotted kissing in London in October 2024, just weeks after she announced her split from ex-boyfriend John Gaines, with whom she shares 3-year-old daughter Hazel.

In the interview, Monét also spoke about co-parenting with Gaines, saying it's "not ideal" but that they make it work.

"I feel like I'm super blessed to have a partner who understands, also, that Hazel will eventually be able to see things, and he was able to compose himself, and so was I," she said.

Monét and Gaines announced their breakup in a joint statement in September 2024, revealing that they had been separated for 10 months prior.
