Kurts Adams Rozentals, a canoeist from the UK, is facing a difficult decision: choose between his Olympic dreams or his OnlyFans account, which has helped him fund his athletic pursuits.
The Allegations
Paddle UK, the governing body for canoeing in the UK, has suspended Rozentals due to "allegations" related to his social media accounts. Rozentals suspects the allegations surround his OnlyFans account, which features "spicy content."
Rozentals created his OnlyFans account in January to fund his athletic pursuits, including his Olympic dreams. He uses his Instagram posts to drive traffic to his OnlyFans account, where he shares content that is "edgy" and "spicy."
"I have been posting videos [on Instagram] that are consciously made to be edgy in order to drive conversions to my 'spicy content page' [on OnlyFans] to fund this ultimate dream of going to the Olympics," Rozentals told BBC Sport.
The Investigation
Paddle UK has launched an investigation into the allegations, which Rozentals believes are related to his OnlyFans account. The governing body has not clarified the specifics surrounding the allegations.
Rozentals has gained over 10,000 likes on his posted content and has pocketed over £100,000 from his OnlyFans account. However, in April, he received a call from a Paddle UK representative informing him that he was suspended from the program and warning him to cease all contact with the program's staff and athletes.
Rozentals was also banned from competing at the 2nd and final part of GB team selections.
The Decision
Rozentals is now facing a difficult decision: choose between continuing his OnlyFans account or earning back his spot with Paddle UK and a chance to compete for a spot on Team GB.
"It's the hardest decision that I've ever faced in my life," Rozentals said.
Rozentals' future with Paddle UK remains uncertain.
"I came to the realization about why I started doing this last winter after years of struggle, years of living on the edge, my mum working 90 hours-a-week, having bailiffs at the door," Rozentals explained.
"I'm going to find a way where we don't have to struggle, where my mum can enjoy her life and I'm able to put everything into this sport because when you're thinking about how to pay the rent this month and you're standing at the start line, that's not very conducive [to performing well]."
