Kelsea Ballerini is finally taking a well-deserved break after wrapping up her North American tour and her first season as a coach on The Voice. In an appearance on TODAY with Jenna & Friends, the 31-year-old country star revealed that she's ready to "pump the brakes" and enjoy the summer.

"I need a break!" Ballerini exclaimed. "And I've never been able to say that before, but I really think it's just time for me to pump the brakes, figure out what's next, have a summer, what?! Go to the beach? Huh? Learn to cook a new meal, hang out with the dogs, so that's kind of my agenda."

Although Ballerini is looking forward to her break, she's aware that her plans might change. "Every time I say that I have time off, something happens," she said. "But I'm very open to whatever is out there."

Ballerini also opened up about her experience on The Voice, "never say never" when asked if she'd come back to the show. "I think ending my first arena tour, ending my first time on The Voice, it's just been such a beautiful season of doing things that are out of my comfort zone and bigger than I've ever done and it's been really fulfilling. I love being in that seat."

Ballerini's North American tour, which supported her latest studio album Patterns, wrapped up on April 13 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. The tour was a milestone for the country star, who wanted to make a mark in the history of women in country music.

"Historically there's not a lot of women in our genre that have made that jump to arenas," Ballerini explained. "I had to do it right because I couldn't fail — not just for myself but because I want to contribute to the history of women in country music."
