Keith Urban has officially kicked off his High and Alive World Tour, and PEOPLE has an exclusive look inside his first few shows. The country star, 57, launched his tour on May 22 in Orange Beach, Alabama, followed by shows in Alpharetta, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina.

"Playing live is what I live to do," Urban shared with PEOPLE. "Looking out from a stage and seeing people singing, forgetting about all the stress in their lives, cutting loose, and feeling ALIVE – that's what it's about for me."
