Legendary actor and filmmaker Clint Eastwood is showing no signs of slowing down as he celebrates his 95th birthday. In a rare interview with Austrian newspaper Kurier, Eastwood shared his philosophy on originality and his commitment to learning and creating something new.

"My philosophy is: do something new or stay at home," Eastwood said, emphasizing the importance of originality in his work. "We live in an era of remakes and franchises. I've shot sequels three times, but I haven't been interested in that for a long while."

Eastwood also reminisced about the good old days when screenwriters wrote movies like Casablanca in small bungalows on the studio lot. "When everyone had a new idea," he added.

The Hollywood icon also expressed that at his age, he remains in good physical shape, and no one needs to worry about his health "for a long time yet."

"There's no reason why a man can't get better with age," Eastwood said. "And I have much more experience today. Sure, there are directors who lose their touch at a certain age, but I'm not one of them."

As Eastwood explained, he has always strived to try something new, both as a director and when he worked more in front of the camera. "As an actor, I was still under contract with a studio, was in the old system, and thus forced to learn something new every year."

Eastwood also shared his philosophy on working as long as he can still learn something or until he's truly senile. "That's why I'll work as long as I can still learn something, or until I'm truly senile."

Eastwood's most recent big-screen project, Juror #2, premiered last fall. The actor has also been praised for his sharp wit by Nicholas Hoult, who worked with him on the set of Juror #2.
