Danielle Fishel, the actress who played Topanga on the popular 90s TV show 'Boy Meets World', has revealed that she gave away strands of her hair to fans after filming a iconic episode where her character cuts her hair.

Fishel made the revelation on the rewatch podcast 'Pod Meets World', where she was joined by her co-stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle. The episode in question, titled "Hair Today, Goon Tomorrow", was part of season 4 of the show and originally aired in 1997.

Fishel explained that she had been wanting to cut her hair for a while and had asked the show's co-creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs for permission. Initially, Jacobs was hesitant, but eventually agreed to write an episode around the haircut.

"I really did cut my hair. It was not a wig. It was definitely my hair," Fishel said on the podcast. "I had really wanted to cut my hair. I had only had one haircut in my entire life and it was when I was 2."

Fishel went on to describe the experience of filming the episode, saying that she was nervous about cutting her hair on camera and that there was a lot of stress about whether or not she would listen to Jacobs' instructions.

After the episode was filmed, Fishel revealed that she gave away strands of her hair to the audience members who were present during the filming. She said that this was a common practice among the cast, who would often hand out signed scripts or other memorabilia to the audience after filming.

Fishel also shared that the studio audience was shocked when she cut her hair, with many gasping in surprise.
