Whitney Purvis, a star of MTV's reality show "16 and Pregnant," has suffered a devastating loss. Her son, Weston Gosa Jr., has passed away at the age of 16.
Purvis announced the heartbreaking news on Facebook, writing, "My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don't understand."
In a subsequent post, Purvis shared a photo of herself and Weston, captioning it, "Rest in Peace, my baby Weston. I love you forever, precious. I'll never understand why life has to be so cruel. You'll always be my baby."
The cause of death has not been disclosed, but his stepmom, Amy, revealed that the family had ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of his passing.
Amy wrote on Facebook, "All we know is we got up this morning around 7 am and tried to wake him up, he was not breathing, we attempted CPR and called an ambulance. The paramedics attempted it as well and took him to the hospital in Gordon County where he was pronounced dead."
Weston's family is devastated by his sudden passing. His stepmom described him as "brilliant, smart, funny, and had so much potential in life."
Whitney and Weston Sr. welcomed their son on April 2, 2009, during the first season of "16 and Pregnant." The couple later broke up and rekindled before giving birth to their second son, River, in 2014. After welcoming River, they broke up again. In the years since their relationship, Whitney lost custody of both boys.
This tragic loss is a stark reminder of the fragility of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with Whitney and her family during this difficult time.
