Sister Wives' Kody Brown Digs Late Son Garrison's Grave, Says It's a 'Deeply Emotional' Experience

In a heart-wrenching moment on the latest episode of Sister Wives, Kody Brown opted to dig his late son Garrison's grave, saying it was a "deeply emotional" for him.

Kody, 56, asked the cemetery sexton for permission to dig the hole, explaining that it meant something special to him. "It means something to me. I don't know why. It's something deeply emotional," he said.

Kody didn't complete the task alone, as he was joined by his brother Scott and brother-in-law Tim, who were part of the "men group who nurtured" Garrison "into maturity."

Despite not having the urn containing Garrison's remains, which could have helped with measuring the grave, Kody explained that his son-in-law Mitch was creating something special for the burial site.

"For the act of effort in this, because we're not digging a grave big enough for a coffin, I'm going to make it a little bit bigger than certainly that I need for this urn," Kody said.

"Just trying to honor my son as best I can. I don't even know if it's honor. It's mourning," he added.

Garrison's grave will be beside other deceased family members, including Grandma Cheryl, who Kody said "probably nurtured Garrison as much as any of us."

Kody's wife, Janelle, revealed that Kody had contacted her about digging the grave, and she thought it was "perfect" and "symbolic" to have him do it.

Garrison passed away in March 2025 at the age of 25. His death was later ruled a suicide.

The episode of Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
