Alicia Hannah-Kim, a star of the Netflix series Cobra Kai, has spoken out about the recent incident in which her costar Martin Kove bit her during a convention event.
Hannah-Kim took to Instagram to address the incident, which occurred on June 22 at the Summer Con in Washington. In a video message, she thanked her fans for their support and emphasized the importance of standing up for oneself in the face of unacceptable behavior.
"I don't think anybody would think this is normal or wanted or acceptable," Hannah-Kim said. "And I just think that when you're confronted with something like this, it's good to stand up for yourself."
Hannah-Kim filed a police report following the incident, alleging that Kove, 78, grabbed her arm and bit her upper arm so hard that it nearly drew blood. Kove later apologized for his actions, insisting that he believed they were simply messing around and did not realize his actions were serious.
In her Instagram message, Hannah-Kim made it clear that she did not appreciate Kove's behavior and that it did not reflect the positive atmosphere on the set of Cobra Kai.
"This does not represent my experience with the show at large," she said. "I think everybody can tell that it's a really good vibe and great cast, and everybody else is delightful. So I don't want this to affect your love for the show."
Kove has since apologized for his actions, stating that he regrets his behavior and takes full responsibility for what happened.
