After recovering from being stabbed earlier in the season, Jordan returns as a coach for the Chargers. The teams prepare for their showdown, and it is revealed that Coach Bobby is out sick, forcing Jordan to fill in as head coach for the big game.

When an electrical blackout delays the football game, Jordan and Cassius, who are cousins, take steps to repair their relationship, while they wait for the match to resume. After power is restored, the game continues, with football frenzy filling the final moments of the finale.

Who Wins the Game in the All American Season 7 Finale?

Season 7 of All American concludes with an epic football game between the Beverly High and South Crenshaw High.

As the clock ticks down on the field — and in the episode's running time — Beverly is down 24-20. "They're going to need a miracle," the game's announcer proclaims.

KJ, who is the quarterback for the Eagles, throws a long pass down the field. His fellow players and everyone on the sidelines watch as the ball soars through the air. Just as it's about to be revealed where it lands, the episode ends and the credits roll.

Why Does All American Season 7 End on a Cliffhanger?

Yes, the All American season 7 finale closes with a cliffhanger. KJ throws the ball, but the audience doesn't know who wins the game between the Eagles and Chargers.

According to showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, this heart-pumping moment is intentional and filled with meaning, culminating in a moment that can define characters.

"For us, who won that game and who gets to declare themselves the victor of everything that went down over the season felt like such a powerful way to end the episode," she explained to TVLine. "And — fingers crossed — allow us to come back in Season 8 to pick up with the results of that game and how it affects them moving forward."

Who Does KJ Ask to Be His Girlfriend?

There has been a love triangle between KJ, Amina, and Tori, but in the season 7 finale, KJ asks his "constant cheerleader," Tori, to be his girlfriend.

In an interview with Parade, Carroll said that KJ's decision "doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings for Amina buried in there somewhere, whether he acknowledges them or anything beyond a best friendship or not."

She revealed how even the show's writers are "split on the different ships and who is rooting for who to be endgame. We were all united in our belief that Tori deserved this moment at the end of the season after everything she put on the line for KJ."

Is There Going to Be All American Season 8?

All American has not yet been renewed for season 8, but Carroll remains "optimistic."

"I'm moving forward and planning as though we have one, because if I don't, we won't be ready in time when we get it," she told Deadline.

"We have so many stories we still have yet to tell and have such an infusion of wonderful energy and pathways with this new generation," she continued. "We're excited to put pen to paper and fingers to keyboard and are keeping our fingers and toes crossed that we get another season to do that."
