Sean "Diddy" Combs' former personal assistant, David James, has testified about the rapper's controlling behavior towards his ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, during the mogul's federal sex trafficking trial. James revealed that Combs viewed Ventura as "moldable" due to her young age, saying, "Got her right where I wanted her — she's young."

James also testified that Combs controlled Ventura's finances, paying for her apartment and giving her an allowance. The assistant recalled a conversation where Ventura expressed her frustration with her lifestyle, saying, "Man, this lifestyle is crazy?" James replied, "Why don't you leave?" to which Ventura responded, "I can't get out. Mr. Combs oversees so much of my life."

The trial has also heard testimony from other witnesses, including model Kerry Morgan and Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard. Richard alleged that she saw Combs hit Ventura in the head with eggs and threaten them both.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
