Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan's marriage is "drama, drama, drama" even before the catfishing scandal, a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE. The Mötley Crüe rocker, 62, made headlines last week after Furlan revealed she'd been seduced by a catfish posing as Ronnie Radke, frontman of the rock band Falling in Reverse.

The source claims that the pair are continuing to live separately amid the tension. "He's still doing his own thing. She's still in the hotel," the source says. "They weren't getting along. They haven't been getting along, and she left and went to a hotel. She took her s---. They got in a fight, and she [left]."

The source adds that Lee "got worked up" and called "the guy," referring to Radke, who said on social media that he'd taken the situation with Furlan public because Lee allegedly "would not stop yelling at me."

"Tommy just couldn't get any peace and quiet. It's drama, drama, drama [in their relationship]," the source adds.

Reps for Lee and Furlan did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

The couple met in 2017 on the celebrity dating app Raya, and married two years later. Lee said in the Netflix documentary The American Meme that he'd been following Furlan on Vine for years, and had always found her "funny, and stupid and cute and beautiful."

Though the pair praised one another over the years, with Furlan telling PEOPLE in 2023 that the drummer was "the first guy that treats me so well," tensions flared last week when TMZ reported that the two had been living separately amid concerns over Lee's alleged drinking.

Radke, 41, then alleged in a series of Instagram Stories that Furlan had been catfished by someone pretending to be him on Snapchat. He also claimed that Lee had threatened him over the situation, though he claimed to have "no idea" what the star was talking about.
