The final trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth has been released, and it's packed with action and terrifying dinosaurs. Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali star in the latest installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, which hits theaters on July 2.
In the trailer, Johansson's character, Zora Bennett, warns her team, "The theme park owners did experimental work, leaving only the worst ones here." The group is on a mission to secure genetic material from the world's three largest dinosaurs, but things take a turn when they encounter a sinister discovery that's been hidden for decades.
The film takes place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, and follows Zora as she leads a team on a top-secret mission. Along the way, they encounter a civilian family who becomes stranded on an island with them, where they face off against some of the most terrifying dinosaurs ever featured in the franchise.
Director Gareth Edwards, who is known for directing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Godzilla, said in an interview that he was drawn to the project because it was the only movie that would make him drop everything and dive in.
The script for the film was written by David Koepp, who penned the original 1993 film and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Johansson has spoken highly of the film, saying it fulfills a "lifelong dream" of hers. The actress also declined to join Instagram to promote the film.
