Matthew Labyorteaux, the beloved actor from Little House on the Prairie, had a wild experience during his teen celebrity days. On The Patrick Labyorteaux show, Matthew's older brother and host, Patrick Labyorteaux, shared a hilarious and chaotic story about a Renaissance fair visit that went awry.
The brothers, along with actor Al Eisenmann, attended the fair at the Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills, California. Patrick recalled how Matthew, then playing Albert Quinn Ingalls on the NBC Western drama, was swarmed by girls trying to kiss Al Eisenmann, but accidentally got caught in the crossfire.
Patrick explained how Matthew, carrying a giant turkey leg, became the center of attention, much to Al's dismay. "He's still trying to hold the turkey leg and he's getting kissed by all these girls," Patrick recalled, laughing.
The brothers had to stage an intervention, of sorts, to rescue Matthew from the swarm of girls. "Al's going, 'Albert down! Albert down!' and we run in there like a military squad getting him out to safety. No man left behind, and no turkey leg left behind," Patrick joked.
Meanwhile, Al was trying to sneak in some kisses during the chaos. "But it was a very traumatic experience for my brother that he had to work out all by himself, eating a turkey leg, because Al and I were off to the other part of the Renaissance fair," Patrick added.
Little House on the Prairie is currently streaming on Peacock.
