Lisa Ann Walter, who played the beloved housekeeper Chessy in the 1998 film "The Parent Trap," is definitely on board for a reboot – but only if Nancy Meyers writes it.
Walter spoke to PEOPLE about the possibility of a reboot recently on a red carpet, stating, "One-hundred percent if Nancy Meyers wrote it." She also expressed her desire for Lindsay Lohan, who played the twins separated at birth, to be involved, as well as Dennis Quaid.
Walter acknowledged the loss of Natasha Richardson, who played the twins' mother, Elizabeth James, and said that any reboot would need to thoughtfully acknowledge her passing.
"Dennis [Quaid] has said that he doesn't think it's doable without Natasha, and I understand that," Walter explained. "The movie – it's a kids' story, but it's a love story. So to have a love story that involves that grief, that sadness – if it was written beautifully, maybe it's doable."

Walter also shared that she keeps in touch with her former co-stars, including Lindsay Lohan and Dennis Quaid. She even delivered homemade meals to Quaid's house during the pandemic.
While Walter's own kids didn't grow up obsessed with "The Parent Trap," they do share a connection to the film – her identical twins, Spencer and Simon, were born on the twins' birthday from the movie, October 11.
Walter loves any chance to share "The Parent Trap" love, which inspired the 22nd-anniversary social media screening she and Elaine Hendrix threw in July 2020. She hopes that a reboot will happen and feels it would mean a lot to the fans.
