Country music legend Willie Nelson has been forced to cancel a concert on his Outlaw Music Festival tour due to extreme weather conditions that damaged his equipment.
The 92-year-old musician was scheduled to perform at the Lucky Star Amphitheater in El Reno, Oklahoma, on July 1, 2025, but the show was canceled after an extreme weather event caused heavy rains and high winds, forcing the crowd to evacuate.
According to the festival organizers, the weather conditions damaged much of the scheduled performers' equipment and instruments, making it difficult to assess their condition in time to accurately and safely use for the show.
"Equipment and artists' instruments were damaged and waterlogged, making their condition difficult to assess in time to accurately and safely use for tomorrow's show," the organizers said in a statement.
The decision was made to cancel the show to recover and replace whatever was needed to continue additional dates. Refunds will be issued to ticket holders.
Nelson shared the same message on his Instagram account, where fans were quick to ask about the condition of his famous guitar, Trigger. A rep for Nelson confirmed that Trigger is safe.
The Outlaw Music Festival tour will resume in Austin, Texas, on July 4, with Nelson and other artists, including Bob Dylan and Sheryl Crow, set to perform.
This is not the first time Nelson has had to cancel a show due to health reasons. Earlier this year, he missed the opening show of the tour due to not feeling well.
