Miley Cyrus Reveals She Lied to Dolly Parton About Writing New Songs

Miley Cyrus, 32, has confessed that she lied to her godmother Dolly Parton, 79, about writing new songs that didn't exist at the time. The catalyst behind this lie" was Parton's question, "Got any hits?" during a visit two Christmases ago.

Cyrus, in an episode of The Zane Lowe Show, revealed that she told Parton she had a new song called "More to Lose" even though she hadn't written it yet. She later did the same with the song "Every Girl You've Ever Loved", off her upcoming album Something Beautiful.

After Parton asked if she had any more hits, Cyrus quickly came up with the title "More to Lose" even though she hadn't written it yet. This led to a songwriting session with her partner Michael Pollack, who had a song that he had already started with another writer, Autumn Rowe. The song was finally written by early January, and Cyrus was able to share it with Parton.

When Parton asked again if she had any more hits, Cyrus came up with the title "Every Girl You've Ever Loved", which Parton loved. However, Cyrus hadn't written the song yet. This led to the creation of both songs, which are now part of her upcoming album Something Beautiful, set to release on May 30 with an accompanying film.

Parton, who has known Cyrus since she was a baby, has previously spoken about her goddaughter, saying, "She's my little sweetheart. You know? My little goddaughter, so I feel very close to her." Parton also praised Cyrus' song "Flowers", saying it was a "big song this past year.
