Cynthia Erivo, the star of the upcoming movie adaptation of Wicked, has revealed Beyoncé's surprising reaction to her 2025 Grammys performance.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Erivo shared the details of her encounter with Queen Bey at the awards show. Erivo's mesmerizing performance of "Fly Me to the Moon" as part of a tribute to the late Quincy Jones left the audience, including Queen Latifah and John Legend, in awe.
After the performance, Erivo bumped into Beyoncé in the audience, who had a surprising reaction. "She was like, 'You're an alien, and I love it,'" Erivo recalled.
Erivo's Grammys performance was not the only notable moment of the award show. The Tony Award-winner and her co-star Ariana Grande also opened the 97th Academy Awards with a highly anticipated Wicked medley.
In addition to her busy schedule, Erivo is set to release her second solo album, I Forgive You, on Friday. The album is a collection of personal stories and songs that Erivo has had to forgive people for, including herself.
Erivo's album comes on the heels of the success of the Wicked movie, which has taken the world by storm. The sequel, Wicked: For Good, is set to hit theaters on November 21.
