Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry has spoken candidly about her experiences with cosmetic procedures, revealing that she views them as a "tool" to help her feel more confident in her looks.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Harry, 80, explained that looking attractive is a requirement of her job, especially as a woman in the music industry. "I wanted to work, and so much of women being attractive, and being a selling point, is clearly showbiz," she said.

Harry has been open about her relationship with aging and cosmetic work, discussing it in her 2019 memoir, Face It. She has never hidden the fact that she's had plastic surgery, saying it's the same as having a flu shot - another way of looking after herself.

The rock icon has spoken about how the focus on her appearance throughout her career has sometimes made her wonder if she's ever accomplished anything beyond her image. "It's sometimes made me wonder if I've ever accomplished anything beyond my image," she added.

Despite this, Harry tries to maintain a positive outlook about her career. She recently turned 80 and shared her thoughts about aging in a January interview with The Times. "I don't walk around thinking every minute, oh my God, I'm going be 80 — but that's sort of how I feel," she said.

Harry's comments come at a time when many celebrities are speaking out about the pressures of looking good in the industry. Kevin James recently opened up about his viral performance with Jelly Roll, saying he's a "wonderful human being." Meanwhile, Katie Sturino shared her favorite reads, including celebrity memoirs and cozy mysteries.
