Barry Williams Admits to Sleeping in His Brady Bunch Bed on Set Between Takes

Barry Williams, the actor who played Greg Brady in the popular TV show "The Brady Bunch," has admitted to sleeping in his character's bed on set between takes. In a recent episode of the podcast "The Real Brady Bros.," he shared the story with his co-host and costar Christopher Knight.

Williams, 70, said that he was so exhausted during the filming of the show that he would often sneak away to his character's bed, which was located on the other half of the sound stage, to catch a quick nap. He recalled that one day, he fell asleep for about 30 minutes, and the crew members were searching for him everywhere.

"I went back there, I didn't tell anybody," Williams said. "They were working out in the backyard and in the den, and I fell asleep on my bed. And I didn't tell anybody."

Knight, 67, added that the sets not being used were generally taped off, but sometimes they weren't. "In our case, they weren't always taped off. Sometimes they were with tape that said 'hot set.' They didn't want you being in those rooms when they weren't being used," he explained.

Williams continued, "That's why they didn't think to look for me there." Knight added, "And it's not like we didn't have a place to lay down if we needed to get some rest. That's what our dressing rooms provided. There was a couch in each of the dressing rooms that you could lay down on."

Williams concluded, "I was tired a lot during the show. It was very demanding." Knight agreed, saying that he never fell asleep on set. "Never fell asleep on in the bed. I mean, what am I 12 years old with all the energy in the world?" he said. "I'm bouncing off the wall."
