Milly Alcock, the 25-year-old actress who played the role of young Rhaenyra Targaryen on the HBO drama House of the Dragon, has opened up about a tough experience she had on set. During an episode of The Tonight Show, she recalled how a higher-up told her she needed an acting coach after just her second day on set.

Alcock admitted that the comment reaffirmed all of her doubts about her abilities, "It just confirmed everything that I've kind of known to be true, [which] is that I'm not very good at my job." The audience expressed their sympathy, and host Jimmy Fallon defended Alcock, saying, "From the very first episode, you were a fan favorite. That guy is wrong. You are unbelievable."

Fallon even addressed the unnamed higher-up, looking straight into the camera, "Look at her! You're totally wrong, buddy."

The actress broke out when she costarred in the first season of House of the Dragon, and made a brief cameo in season 2. The series was renewed for a third installment just days before the second season premiered in June 2024.

Alcock is now gearing up for the premiere of her new Netflix drama, Sirens, on May 22. She stars opposite Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton, Bill Camp, and Felix Solis.

While season 1 introduced viewers to the Targaryen family and season 2 saw a few dragon battles, co-creator Ryan Condal revealed that season 3 will focus on "total war."
