Filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu has teased his upcoming movie with Tom Cruise, describing it as a "brutal, wild comedy of catastrophic proportions."
Iñárritu, known for his critically acclaimed films like Birdmanand The Revenant, told The Hollywood Reporter that the movie, tentatively titled Judy, is a departure from what audiences expect from him and Cruise.
"I know comedy is not what people expect from me, or Tom, and making this film was terrifying for me, but I don't like to repeat myself, and every film should scare you a little," Iñárritu said.
The film, which has just finished filming in London, also stars German actress Sandra Hüller, Jesse Plemons, Riz Ahmed, Emma D'Arcy, Sophie Wilde, Michael Stuhlbarg, and John Goodman.
Iñárritu described working with Cruise, saying, "Tom makes me laugh every single day. He has this total commitment, this total madness."
The movie is set to release in theaters in fall 2026.
