Tim McGraw Credits Wife Faith Hill for Saving His Life: 'I Was a Wild Man'

Country music star Tim McGraw is opening up about how meeting his wife Faith Hill turned his life around. In a recent interview on Tracy Lawrence's Road House podcast, McGraw shared how Hill's influence helped him become a better person and artist. "I've been lucky. I've been very fortunate. First off, meeting my wife saved my life. I was a wild man," the 58-year-old Grammy winner said.

McGraw, who has been married to Hill since 1996, credits her for not only being beautiful and talented but also for being a good person. He shared how having their three daughters, Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey, has made him a better person. "It changed my life. It changed my perspective. It changed the way I thought about what my future would be," McGraw said.

The "Live Like You Were Dying" artist also shared how being a father has made him more responsible. "It certainly took me out of myself," he said. McGraw, who has been sober since, credited Hill for helping him overcome his struggles with alcohol.

In the same interview, McGraw shared that his tours with Faith Hill have been the pinnacle of his career. "The Soul2Soul tours with Faith, for a couple of reasons, because it's rare that people get to do that in this business, that a husband and wife get to go on tour at the pinnacle of their careers and get to do stuff together," McGraw shared.

McGraw also praised Hill's incredible singing talent, saying she makes him a better artist when they perform together. "She really has such a soulful voice, and her musical taste is just so incredible," the musician said.
