A movie theater ceiling collapsed at Cinema Ocho in La Plata, Argentina, during a screening of Final Destination: Bloodlines, leaving one moviegoer injured.

Fiamma Villaverde, 29, was celebrating her birthday with her 11-year-old daughter and a friend when the ceiling fell on top of her during the screening on May 19.

"I haven't been to the movies in years. I went because it was my birthday, and look what happened to me," Villaverde said.

The incident occurred towards the end of the movie, when Villaverde heard a loud noise and initially thought it was part of the film. However, a huge piece fell on top of her, bruising her and causing her to seek medical attention.

Villaverde expressed concern for her daughter, saying, "Imagine if they hit my daughter in the head?"

The theater manager asked her how she wanted to fix the situation, and Villaverde said she would file a complaint. She has since gotten in touch with a lawyer.

Cinema Ocho did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The incident has left Villaverde shaken, and she has not been able to return to work since the incident.

Final Destination: Bloodlines was released on May 16, 14 years after the previous installment in 2011. The movie follows Iris (Brec Bassinger) as she saves everyone dining at a high-rise restaurant after a premonition, which causes consequences for her descendants.
