Helen Mirren, the 79-year-old actress, has revealed that she was told to get a nose job in her 20s, but she refused to do so. In a recent conversation with Kathy Bates, Niecy Nash-Betts, Parker Posey, Cristin Milioti, and Keri Russell for the Hollywood Reporter's Drama Actress Roundtable, Mirren shared how she ignored the unsolicited advice and went on to have a successful career in Hollywood.

Mirren recalled that someone told her, "You'll never get work if you don't have a nose job." However, she refused to do so, stating that she didn't want to be a "pretty actress" anyway.
Last November, Mirren opened up about her perception of beauty and how she believes it has more to do with what's inside a person. During an appearance at the 2024 L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth Honoree celebration in West Hollywood, Calif., she said, "I've always had this issue with the word beauty because it assumes that you're looking to be beautiful in an exterior way."
Mirren also shared that she appreciates the "world of makeup and fashion, because it's all transformative." However, she feels most authentic and at ease with herself in simple moments, such as taking a bath with her husband or being in nature.
