In the interview, Miley shared that she believes she "took on some of my mom's hurt as my own, because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult. I owned a lot of her pain." She also mentioned that now that her mom is in love with her stepdad, Dominic Purcell, and her dad is finding happiness with Hurley, she can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing.
"I'm being an adult about it," Miley said. "I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing. I'm being an adult about it."
Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus' Divorce

Miley Cyrus on Dealing with Family Drama in the Public Eye
Miley also shared her thoughts on how she and her family deal with their drama playing out in the public eye. "The thing I like about the new way that the world works is that everything is so fast," the "Angels Like You" crooner said. "In the '90s, when something happened in a tabloid, remember how it would happen for a year? Now it's just gone."
Miley added that she's gotten used to the public drama and is willing to take it for the life she has. "For me, I've gotten so used to it that I'm like, 'If this is the symptom — that sometimes we deal with these embarrassing or difficult public opinions — then that's something I'm willing to take to have the life that we have.' "
