During a recent panel at The Chocolate Expo at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady on the iconic TV show "The Brady Bunch," revealed that despite being the youngest of three brothers in real life, he took on a big brotherly role with his co-stars.
Williams, who played the oldest sibling on the show, explained that he learned from his own brothers and applied those lessons to his relationships with his co-stars, including Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland, and Susan Olsen.
"I'm the youngest of us three boys in my family, so I was excited to become the eldest," Williams said. "But of course, I took lessons from my brothers, who weren't very kind, and I suddenly now pressed Chris and Mike."
Williams' co-star Susan Olsen recalled a sweet moment between her and Williams during filming, where Williams took on a protective big brother role.
"I remember very, very well a moment with me and Barry where we were playing in the abandoned commissary on the Paramount lot. We were playing in meat lockers and places that we shouldn't have been," Olsen recalled.
"Barry took me aside, because Barry didn't have any younger siblings in real life, and he took a very big brotherly role and said, 'Hey if you're not comfortable with this you don't have to do it'... which is so completely not like my brothers at home," Olsen added.
Mike Lookinland, who played Bobby Brady, agreed that there was a family dynamic among the cast, with Williams taking on a big brotherly role.
