Director Wes Anderson has confessed that he's been trying to cast Jodie Foster in multiple movies, revealing that he's offered her parts in "three movies in a row, maybe four."
In an interview, Anderson praised the two-time Oscar winner, saying, "I think she's just great." He also revealed that he and his team have reached out to offer her a part in "every movie" of his.
When asked which specific projects those offers applied to, Anderson declined to answer, citing concerns that it might be perceived as implying that another actor was not his first choice.
Despite not being able to collaborate with Foster yet, Anderson remains hopeful, saying, "I still would like to get Jodie Foster." He speculated that sometimes actors have specific ideas about the kind of projects they want to work on at a particular time in their lives.
Foster, meanwhile, has been busy with her upcoming projects, including the French-language thriller Vie Privée, which premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. She also starred in the fourth season of True Detective.
Wes Anderson's Latest Project: The Phoenician Scheme
Anderson's latest film, The Phoenician Scheme, stars Benicio del Toro as fictional industrialist Zsa-zsa Korda, who embarks on a new enterprise with his daughter Liesl (Mia Threapleton) and tutor Bjørn (Michael Cera). The film features an all-star ensemble cast.
