Actress Carrie Coon, who played Laurie on season 3 of the HBO hit show The White Lotus, has opened up about her competitive running skills in high school.

Coon, 44, revealed her hidden talent on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on June 16, 2025. The actress's speediness was showcased in a memorable scene in the season 3 finale, where she, along with Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan), fled the scene after Rick (Walton Goggins) started a gunfight at the resort in Thailand.

During her chat with Jimmy Fallon, Coon shared that she was a competitive runner on her high school track team. "My high school track team lost two meets in 26 years," she said proudly, giving a shout-out to her coach. "And one of the meets was my fault."

Coon explained that she had a false start in the 4x2, but came back and helped her team win the 4x4. "I redeemed myself, okay? And then we won state, okay?" she said.

Coon also joked about her speediness, saying, "You guys, you're 10% faster on TV. It's not as fast as it looks."

The actress also revealed her favorite meme of her running, which she saw during a marathon, and read, "Run like Carrie Coon in The White Lotus."

Coon also teased the upcoming third season of her other HBO series, The Gilded Age, where she plays Bertha Russell. "Well, I win, of course," she joked. "Let's see. What's Bertha doing? She's marrying off her daughter, and she always gets what she wants. But that doesn't mean there aren't consequences. That's what I'll say."

The Gilded Age season 3 premieres on June 22, and the third season of The White Lotus is available now on Max.
