Singer-songwriter SZA has opened up about her childhood, revealing that she was a "freakazoid" who struggled to find friends due to her fascination with mystical and magical things.

In an interview with Interview Magazine, SZA told Chappell Roan that she was a "freakazoid" as a child and would often talk about mystical and magical things, which made it difficult for her to find friends.

"I struggled to find friends because I'd just be talking about all this mystical stuff," she said. "I was a freakazoid. I was reading about Akashic records at like 7, so I was like, 'Do you guys want to call Akasha?' And everybody was like, 'You're so f---ing weird, and I'm scared of you'."

SZA also spoke about her fascination with water, saying that she believes it's a conscious, sentient force that holds memory. She also revealed that she would often go to the ocean and give it cakes and brownies as a form of messaging and energy.

SZA's fascination with mystical and magical things started at a young age, and she would often watch TV shows like Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which further fueled her imagination.

She also spoke about being bullied as a child, saying that she was "attacked" because she was "awkward" and didn't fit in." However, she said that the experience made her who she is today, and that she realized that the things that made her "lame" were actually what made her unique.

SZA's latest album has been a huge success, and she has been touring extensively. She recently surprised her fans by bringing out Lizzo on stage for a special performance.
