Choreographer Dave Scott, known for his work on Step Up 2: The Streets, You Got Served, and Dancing with the Stars, has passed away at the age of 52.
Scott's death was confirmed in a statement shared on his official Instagram account, along with a photo of the late choreographer. "It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Dave Scott, who touched so many lives with his warmth, kindness, and spirit," the statement read.

A number of actors and dancers have shared their condolences for Scott's family, along with their own memories of working with him. Glee alums Kevin McHale and Harry Shum Jr. wrote heartfelt tributes, while So You Think You Can Dance alum Comfort Fedoke shared behind-the-scenes photos of her time on the show with Scott.
Fedoke wrote, "My heart is heavy… really heavy …but I’m beyond blessed to have gotten to know the man who was one of the people that first inspired me to dance. His work moved me before I ever met him."

Emmy and Tony-nominated actress Debbie Allen also shared a post in honor of Scott, writing, "His light, laughter, and legacy will forever live in our hearts. We will always speak his name."
Scott was born on August 15, 1972, in Compton, California, and attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, on a basketball scholarship. He was discovered by Rob Base's manager while dancing in a club, and went on to have an illustrious dance and choreography career.
