Heavy metal rocker David Roach, the frontman of the band Junkyard, has given an update on his cancer diagnosis, revealing that he has been diagnosed with "aggressive squamous cell carcinoma affecting his head, neck, and throat."

In a statement shared on Instagram on June 26, Roach and his fiancée Jennifer expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support and love they have received during this challenging time. "We wish we could respond to each of you, but honestly, there are no words right now. We're still struggling to process the news we received on Tuesday," the statement read.

Roach had been experiencing an ongoing fever and cough, which led to his admission to the ER, where he received the devastating news. "It's devastating and life-altering, and we're trying to navigate through the emotions and uncertainty that come with it," the statement continued.

Despite the darkness, Roach is showing incredible strength and resilience, and his sense of humor remains intact. "It's a reminder of how amazing he is. But we know this journey ahead will be extremely tough, David made it clear he is not giving up hope and we're going to need all of your love and prayers," the statement concluded.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Roach with expenses, as his fiancée has had to step away from traditional employment to become his full-time caregiver. The band is also selling merchandise, including black t-shirts with the slogan "DAVID ROACH, F--- CANCER," to raise money to support Roach.
