Ben Rathbun, a reality star from the popular TLC show 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, has passed away at the age of 55. He died on Monday, May 19, surrounded by his family, including his wife Mahogany Roca, in Greencastle, Indiana.
Rathbun's ex-wife, Lisa Perry Rathbun, announced his death on Facebook, writing, "I regret to share that Ben Rathbun, my former husband and father to our four amazing children, passed away Monday, May 19, of cancer at his parents' home in Indiana." She added, "Please remember us in your prayers."
Rathbun was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic adenocarcinoma in December 2024 and passed away due to complications from stomach cancer. Adenocarcinacinoma is a type of cancer that affects the glands that line your organs, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Nearly all stomach cancers are adenocarcinomas.
Rathbun appeared on season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, from December 2021 to April 2022, with Roca. They announced their marriage during a February 2024 episode of 90 Day Diaries.
Other 90 Day Fiancé alums commented on an Instagram post announcing Rathbun's death. Kimberly Menzies wrote, "This is so so sad. My heart breaks for his kids and family." Mike Berk added, "Omg... is this for real? This is so sad to see him or anyone die from cancer. Prayers to him and his family and Mahogany."
Rathbun was not active online; his last TikTok video was posted more than two years ago. In it, he shared an update that he'd been hanging out with his kids and working on a fitness venture. The video ends with him telling the camera, "Have an awesome, awesome day. You deserve it."
