The country singer-songwriters, who married in November 2022, separated last October, and Morgan filed for divorce on Valentine's Day, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Their split was finalized on May 22, with Allen announcing the news on May 27, saying he's been on a "journey" but wishes Morgan well.

It's with peace in my heart that I feel it's time to share this... Kylie and I separated 6 months ago and made the decision to get divorced," he wrote. "I've been on a journey of sobriety, healing, growing, leaning into God, and I've moved on."

Allen continued, "I will always care for Kylie & wish her the best."

Divorce Filing

In her divorce filing, Morgan cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, stating that "the parties can no longer live together as husband and wife, making further cohabitation improper and untenable."

The filing also indicated that the pair signed a "valid and enforceable" prenup in September 2022, and waived any claim to spousal support or alimony, according to the document.

Allen filed a counter-complaint for divorce in April that contested Morgan's date of separation; he wrote that the pair actually separated in December 2024.

Marital Dissolution Agreement

In a marital dissolution agreement finalized by a judge in May, Morgan was ordered to pay Allen $5,000 as payment of property division.

The couple began dating in 2015 after meeting at a songwriter's mixer event and got engaged in May 2021 at Whiskey Jam in Nashville.

The couple initially planned to get married in October 2022, but postponed their nuptials due to Hurricane Ian. They wound up tying the knot on November 27, 2022, in Fort Myers, Florida.

"I was the girl who swore she would never get married because I was already married to my dreams," Morgan told PEOPLE exclusively at the time. "Being an independent woman pursuing her dreams, I always felt as if I had to apologize or dim my ambition for the sake of my relationships. With Jay, I never had to explain myself, apologize, or pull back from my goals. He supported my independence all while standing next to me as my biggest supporter."

After they got married, Morgan and Allen got matching tattoos that read "I do."

They celebrated their first wedding anniversary with a trip to Maui, where they also performed a concert benefiting wildfire relief in Hawaii.

On May 25, Allen celebrated one year of sobriety and announced he'd also been baptized.

"It took every second of 365 days, but I can now finally look in the mirror and be proud of the man looking back at me," he wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to every beautiful person who has had my back along the way, and thank you God for loving me and leading me through my darkest & loneliest days."
