NBA star LeBron James took to Instagram to share a heartwarming moment between his former teammates, Kevin Love and J.R. Smith. The trio, who played together on the Cleveland Cavaliers team that won the 2016 NBA championship, were spotted hugging each other at Madison Square Garden after Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers.>

James, 40, captioned the photo "My dogs right there!!" as Love, 36, and Smith, 39, shared a warm embrace, chatting in each other's ear. The emotional moment was captured in a video shared by outlets and the NBA, showing the two friends holding onto each other as they walked along the court.

The reunion comes a month after Love announced the loss of his father, Stan Love, a former NBA player. Love had missed the Miami Heat's loss to the Cavaliers on April 26 for personal reasons, which he revealed in a heartfelt tribute to his father on social media.

"Dad, you fought for a long time. The hardest stretch being these past 6 months," Love wrote. "The most painful to witness being these last few weeks. And even at the end as you continued to deteriorate — I still saw you as a Giant. My Protector. My first Hero."

James, Love, and Smith were all part of the Cavaliers team that won the 2016 NBA championship. Smith, a New Jersey native, played for the Knicks for three years before his five-year stint with the Cavs began in 2015.
