Selena Gomez is showing her support for her fellow pop star, Taylor Swift, after it was revealed that Swift owns her masters.
Gomez, 32, cheered on Swift, 35, on her Instagram Story, writing "Yes you did that Tay" in all caps, adding "So proud!"
Earlier in the day, Swift confirmed reports that she was once again in control of her music catalog after a public ownership feud involving record executive Scooter Braun.
Swift cleverly captioned an Instagram carousel, a nod to her 2008 hit "You Belong with Me" from her album Fearless.
The "Love Story" singer famously re-recorded albums, adding "Taylor's Version" to the titles during the yearslong battle for ownership.
Gomez has supported Swift since their friendship began more than a decade ago. The two singers were introduced by the Jonas Brothers in August 2008 and have been besties ever since.
"We actually dated the Jonas Brothers together! It was hysterical," Gomez told KISS FM UK in 2017.
Gomez and Swift have been there for each other through thick and thin, including when Gomez got engaged to Benny Blanco in December 2024. Swift commented on the couple's announcement post, "Yes I will be the flower girl."
When Gomez and Blanco released their joint project in March, Swift returned to Instagram for the first time in 100 days just to congratulate them.
In Gomez's cover story with WSJ. Magazine in January 2020, both stars opened up about their longtime friendship.
"There has always been this quality of sisterhood, and I don't say that in a basic way," Swift said of Gomez. "I knew from when I met her I would always have her back. In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don't know if I can forgive someone who hurts her."
