Rihanna's dad, Ronald Fenty, has sadly passed away at the age of 70, according to PEOPLE. The news was first reported by Starcom Network, a news outlet based in Rihanna's home country.

Fenty died in Los Angeles following a brief illness, although his official cause and date of death have not been revealed. Sources close to the family confirmed that Fenty's family was with him around the time of his death.

In photos obtained by TMZ, Rihanna's brother, Rajad Fenty, was seen arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on May 28. The outlet reported that Rihanna was also present in the vehicle.

Representatives for Rihanna did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on Saturday, May 31.
