After nearly 26 years of broadcasting from the iconic Times Square studio, Good Morning America is saying goodbye to its longtime home and hello to a new chapter in downtown Manhattan. The move, which was first announced in October 2023, is part of a larger strategic relocation for all ABC News teams.
The New Home
The Walt Disney Company's new N.Y.C. headquarters, located at 7 Hudson Square, will be the new home for Good Morning America, starting the week of June 16. The new studio is part of a state-of-the-art building, named the Robert A. Iger building.
Reflections on the Times Square Studio
As the co-anchors kicked off their final week in the Times Square studio, they shared sentimental memories and reflected on their first day on set. Robin Roberts recalled her first day in the studio in 1999, interviewing tennis legend Serena Williams after she won her first U.S. Open and Grand Slam title.
"I just remember thinking, 'I'm a little girl from Mississippi and I'm working in Times Square. It's just so majestic," Roberts said.
Other Talk Shows Making the Move
Good Morning America isn't the only talk show making the move to the Walt Disney Company's new N.Y.C. headquarters. The View was the first major talk show to make the move, broadcasting from the new studio in September 2024. Live with Kelly and Mark, and The Tamron Hall Show will also be joining the new headquarters.

The move marks a new chapter for Good Morning America, but the spirit of the show will remain the same. As Robin Roberts said, "It never gets old to say 'Good Morning America'."
